J. Mack Ent. (They/Them)
Step into the world of J. Mack Ent.—a sonic storyteller, futurist, and cultural architect working across sound, digital media, and ritual. Their work moves through frequencies of Black liberation, ancestral memory, spiritual technology, and diasporic reimagination.
Rooted in Ghanaian rhythm, Afrobeat, Clave, Jazz, Gospel, Soul, and Hip-Hop, J. Mack builds bridges between ancient systems of knowing and speculative digital futures. They channel this lineage through music production, sound design, visual art, film, and decentralized technologies.
In 2021, they attended the Arte Sumapaz Residency in Colombia, where they began developing Resonance Across Ages, a historical science fiction film that explores identity fragmentation and intergenerational healing across timelines. Currently supported by the Platforms Fund, the project is expanding as a transmedia narrative centered on movement, sound, and Black spiritual migration.
J. Mack’s work often blurs the line between tech and ritual. At Sidewalk Side Studio, they successfully minted and sold Liberento Mental—a physical painting fused with AR to create a maze of memory, perception, and spirit. They’ve released over 100 original songs, archived at the Memphis Listening Lab and distributed via Lens Protocol, where they continue exploring decentralized methods of artistic ownership and cultural archiving.
They’ve been selected for cutting-edge songwriting incubators such as Camp Chaos (SongCamp DAO) and Maykit Songwriting Camp (2023), where their presence stood out for fusing sonic exploration with emergent tools. Their work is deeply informed by experimentation—not only in medium, but in mindset.
Their foundation was laid early. In 2011, they were mentored by David Porter through the Memphis Music Town Consortium, which set the tone for their lifelong devotion to music as a portal for truth-telling and evolution.
Recent collaborations include Tribly Music’s second cohort, where they crowdfunded a project focused on childhood healing, and HyperTribe’s Global Music Cohort (2025), a London-based, remote artist incubator focused on long-term sustainability and global impact.
J. Mack Ent. doesn’t create content—they create timelines. Whether through sound, story, or space, they build immersive ecosystems that honor the past while preparing the spirit for what’s next.
